Theatre Playground 25 February: "I feel a distance"

Next Wednesday, in an absolutely beautiful new location right in the centre of Groningen, — and with more play time than we're used to — we will host the English language edition of our Theatre Playground: a place to meet people, and explore theatrical acting. You can join just once, and it's open to all: we get a wonderful mix of different ages, Dutchies & internationals, experienced actors & people trying out theatre for the very first time! We typically use improvised acting, and focus on drama (vs comedy, although humour will usually flow from the situation). On the evening it's tea first, then acting exercises to get you comfortably into the zone. This time we'll focus on the subject of Space. We'll explore how a scene changes according to the actors' positions: how do we make a scene feel more realistic, or more tense. How does a marital fight feel when you don't face each other? Or a confession of love when you're on opposite sides of the room?
