ORPHEUS vocal group founded in Lviv, Ukraine, in autumn 2000, is an a cappella group with eight singers. All members are professional singers and musicians who graduated from the State Music Academy in Lviv. The group is flexible in number to expand into different styles of singing. Most of the songs are performed a cappella but sometimes the music playback, orchestra, piano or organ is used as well if necessary. The main areas of speciality are Orthodox church music (liturgical), folk and popular Ukrainian songs, Ukrainian and international Christmas songs and other examples of original Ukrainian, world’s music as well as well-known a cappella classics. The repertoire mixes styles of music ranging from straight harmony pieces with an intricate blend of voices to exciting solo performances with the rest of the group members providing a swinging backing. In 2001 – 2025 ORPHEUS had many concert tours and two thousand separate concerts in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, UK, Poland, Netherlands,Vatican, Czech Republic, Germany. In the Netherlands Orpheus started his concerts with cooperation with Stardust Theater in 2003 and made together a nice Christmas show program Christmas Proms where we had a successful chance to sing in and discover for us the best concert-halls of Netherlands such as Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Nederlands Congrescentrum (Den Haag), De Doelen (Rotterdam). We had both our solo concerts and as well as cooperated with many other groups and choirs, orchestras or organists on these Christmas concerts. During the past 23 years of Netherlands Christmas tours we had and continue a close concert cooperation and friendship with such Dutch conductors and organists as: Gerard Breas, Jan Quintus Zwart, Arjan Breukhoven, Harm Hoeve, Marco den Toom & others. Cooperated on concerts with IC PRODUCTIONS, Stardust Theater, Westlandse Koorvereniging Musica, Oudenbosch Mannenkoor, Chr. Gemengd Drechtstedenkoor 'Praise Him', Global Organ Group Bv Ede, Friendship Cruises & others.
